Orange County Stroke Rehab Network
3rd Annual Educational Workshop
November 2013

Many thanks to all who attended the third annual OCSRN Stroke Educational Workshop that was held on November 17, 2012, at Chapman University. Nearly two hundred therapists, nurses, researchers, and other rehabilitation professionals attended the event, which was co-sponsored by the UC Irvine Brain Repair Center, Chapman University’s Department of Physical Therapy and Dr. Steven Cramer’s Laboratory at the University of California, Irvine. We also thank the wonderful student volunteers from Chapman’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program for their help!

If you were unable to attend, here is a summary of what you missed:

Carolee Winstein, Ph.D., PT of University of Southern California’s Department of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, gave a talk entitled “Challenges to Translating Neurorehabilitation Research into Practice: A Perspective from One Clinical Scientist.”

Steve Small, M.D., Ph.D. of University of California, Irvine’s Department of Neurology, gave a talk entitled “Brain Repair after Stroke: Shooting for a Cure.”
