4th Annual Educational Workshop

Many thanks to all who attended the fourth annual OCSRN Stroke Educational Workshop that was held on November 16, 2013, at Chapman University. Nearly two hundred therapists, nurses, researchers, and other rehabilitation professionals attended the event, which was co-sponsored by the UC Irvine Brain Repair Center, Chapman University’s Department of Physical Therapy and Dr. Steven Cramer’s Laboratory at the University of California, Irvine. We also thank the wonderful student volunteers from Chapman’s Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master’s in Communication Disorders Programs for their help.

Jill Campbell Stewart, PT, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurology at UCI presented her research on the “Role of Motor Planning in the Performance and Learning of Skilled Actions after Stroke”  
       
 

Steven C. Cramer, MD, Professor of Neurology, Anatomy & Neurobiology and the Director of the Neuroimaging Core of the UC Irvine Institute for Clinical & Translational Science at the University of California, Irvine presented “Telerehabilitation”  
       
 

Crista Lopes, PhD, Professor in the Department of Informatics, Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, presented her talk on “Augmented Reality Rehabilitation”  

 

We will be having our fifth annual OCSRN “Stroke Awareness” picnic on May 31, 2014, which is Stroke Awareness Month. Details will be announced at a later date. We hope to see you there!
